1. Independent service
Platform Affairs is an independent reporting, case-documentation and escalation service. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or part of any third-party platform referenced in a report. Platform Affairs is not a court, regulator, law-enforcement agency, emergency service or substitute for professional legal advice.
2. Capacity to use the service
You may use the service only if you have the legal capacity to accept these Terms or are acting with the involvement of a parent, guardian or other person legally authorised to act for you where required. If there is an immediate threat to life or physical safety, contact the competent emergency service or law-enforcement authority rather than relying on this service.
3. Accuracy and good-faith reporting
You must submit reports in good faith. You must distinguish facts you directly know from allegations, suspicions, inferences and third-party statements. You must not knowingly submit materially false, fabricated, manipulated or misleading information. Dates, usernames, identifiers, ticket numbers and source links should be preserved accurately where possible.
Submission creates no entitlement to investigation, escalation, response, enforcement, reinstatement, takedown, compensation or any other result.
4. Prohibited use
You must not use Platform Affairs to harass, threaten, intimidate, stalk, retaliate against, defame, impersonate or unlawfully expose another person; coordinate mass reporting; manufacture evidence; evade a platform restriction; facilitate fraud; distribute malware; obtain unauthorised access; publish credentials or authentication secrets; submit illegal intimate material; or knowingly interfere with another person’s lawful rights.
Platform Affairs may reject or preserve a submission and take protective action where it reasonably appears to involve abuse of the service, immediate safety concerns, unlawful content, evidence tampering or a credible security threat.
5. Evidence and authority to submit
You represent that, to the best of your knowledge, you have a lawful basis, permission, legitimate interest or other sufficient authority to provide the material you submit. Upload only what is reasonably necessary. Do not submit passwords, authentication codes, private keys, complete financial credentials or unrelated private communications.
You retain ownership of material you own. You grant Platform Affairs a limited, non-exclusive permission to store, reproduce, review, redact, format and transmit submitted material solely as reasonably necessary to operate the case, protect the service, comply with law and perform an authorised escalation.
6. Review and escalation discretion
Platform Affairs may verify, organise, summarise, redact, consolidate, decline, suspend, close or escalate a case at its discretion, subject to applicable law. Escalations may be directed to platform trust-and-safety, security, abuse, legal, intellectual-property, privacy or compliance channels, or to other appropriate recipients. Platform Affairs does not control the receiving organisation and cannot promise that it will reply or take action.
7. Case number and private tracking key
Your tracking key is a security credential. You are responsible for keeping it confidential. Anyone who possesses both the case number and tracking key may be able to view the reporter-facing case record and evidence. Do not publish the key, include it in screenshots, or send it through public posts. Notify Platform Affairs promptly if you reasonably believe it has been compromised.
8. Intellectual property and unlawful content
Do not submit material in a manner that infringes copyright, trade marks, database rights, confidentiality obligations, privacy rights or other applicable rights. A report concerning alleged infringement does not itself prove infringement. Platform Affairs may request ownership information, licences, source files, correspondence or other substantiation before acting on an intellectual-property report.
9. Applicable legal framework
Reports and escalations must comply with applicable national and European Union law. For users and cases within scope, relevant frameworks may include Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR), national privacy legislation, and Regulation (EU) 2022/2065 (Digital Services Act). References to those laws do not mean Platform Affairs is an authority empowered to issue legal orders under them.
Where Platform Affairs receives a binding court order, lawful authority request or other legal obligation, it may preserve or disclose information as required by law. Nothing in these Terms limits rights that cannot legally be waived.
10. Service availability and responsibility
The service is provided on a reasonable-efforts basis. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Platform Affairs does not warrant uninterrupted availability, a particular platform response, the accuracy of third-party information, or a specific case outcome. You remain responsible for decisions you make based on a report or platform response and for maintaining independent copies of important evidence.
11. Refusal, restriction and preservation
Platform Affairs may refuse, restrict or close access to the service where necessary to protect users, staff, third parties, systems or legal rights; respond to abuse; preserve evidence; or comply with law. Where appropriate, evidence associated with a disputed or abusive submission may be preserved rather than immediately deleted.
12. Changes and severability
These Terms may be updated when the service or legal framework changes. The effective date identifies the current version. If a provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue to apply to the extent permitted by law.
Questions about these Terms may be sent to escalations@platformaffairs.com.
